Woman killed in pedestrian crash at State, Pleasant in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, MA – A woman died Friday night when a vehicle struck her at a busy intersection in central Hampden County, reports Western Mass News.

The incident occurred shortly before 9:30 p.m. in the area of State Street and Pleasant Street in Springfield, which is approximately 91 miles southwest of Boston.

Police haven’t yet shared any details about the crash except to say that the pedestrian succumbed to her injuries at a local hospital. The victim has not been identified publicly.

It’s unclear if the woman was walking in a designated crosswalk when the accident happened. Additionally, officials haven’t name the driver, nor have they indicated if the driver stopped to render aid.
