Ware woman killed in crash with UPS truck in E Hampshire Co.

BELCHERTOWN, MA – A 48-year-old woman sustained fatal injuries Tuesday afternoon in a two-vehicle collision along the highway in eastern Hampshire County.

According to WWLP 22 News, the accident occurred just before 1:45 p.m. on Route 9, or Ware Road, between Meadow Pond Road and Sabin Street on the far east side of Belchertown. This is about 82 miles southwest of Boston.

Police say that for unknown reasons, a vehicle struck a parked UPS truck along Ware Road. The driver of the passenger vehicle died after transport to an area hospital. Authorities have not released the victim’s name to the public.

The UPS driver sustained non-critical injuries; it’s unclear if they required hospitalization.

Motorists likely encountered delays along Ware Road on Tuesday afternoon while crews gathered evidence and worked at the scene.
