CHARLTON, MA – One person sustained injuries Sunday in a collision involving two semi-trucks along the interstate in southwest Worcester County, reports NBC 10 Boston.
The accident occurred around 6 a.m. on the eastbound side of I-90 in Charlton, which is around 15 miles southwest of Worcester and 53 miles southwest of Boston.
There’s no word yet regarding the cause of the crash, nor have police commented on the manner in which the two 18-wheelers impacted. Photos taken at the scene indicate that an Amazon semi was likely involved.
Medics transported one person to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say that the accident caused one of the semis to leak fuel in the roadway, which resulted in lane closures on I-90 while crews attended to the victims and worked to clear the spill.
A full investigation is underway.
