BOURNE, MA – A 17-year-old sustained serious injuries Sunday in a two-vehicle collision in northwest Barnstable County, reports Boston 25 News.
Sometime in the afternoon, emergency crews responded to a moped accident at the intersection of Shore Road and Bell Road in the city of Bourne, which is about 57 miles southeast of Boston.
Police haven’t yet specified the cause of the crash, which they say involved an SUV and a moped.
The impact of the collision threw the teen moped operator from their bike and into the roadway.
Medics transported the teen rider, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the SUV did not sustain injuries in the accident.
A full investigation is underway.
