Rockport man struck, killed at Rogers, Manuel F. Lewis in Gloucester

GLOUCESTER, MA – A Rockport man died Tuesday morning when a vehicle struck him at a busy intersection in east-central Essex County, reports WHDH 7.

The accident occurred shortly after 5:30 a.m. at Rogers Street and Manuel F. Lewis Street in Gloucester, which is around 36 miles northeast of Boston.

Police haven’t yet indicated if the victim was walking in a designated crosswalk when he was hit.

The pedestrian, who has since been identified as 57-year-old Randy Streeter, died after transport to an area hospital.

The driver involved in the crash stopped to render aid and to speak with authorities.

No charges have been announced thus far.

A full investigation is underway.
