HAVERHILL, MA – A collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian killed two people and injured a third person early Monday in north-central Essex County.
According to Boston 25 News, the fatal accident occurred shortly before 4 a.m. on I-495 near exit 107 in Haverhill. This is about 45 minutes north of Boston.
Police say that a vehicle left the southbound side of the interstate and crashed into an embankment, fatally injuring two people. Those people died at the scene. Authorities have not yet released their identities to the public.
Additionally, authorities assisted a third victim that was seen walking along the interstate and who claimed to have been involved in an accident with the wrecked vehicle.
Medics transported the pedestrian to an area hospital with injuries of unknown severity.
