Postal worker hospitalized after mail truck hits house in Sharon

SHARON, MA – A postal worker sustained injuries Monday after crashing his postal truck into a home in south-central Norfolk County.

According to MassLive, the accident occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Dehart Street in the city of Sharon, which is around 24 miles southwest of Boston.

Police haven’t yet commented on the cause of the crash except to say that the driver may have experienced a medical episode. The mail truck, they say, was traveling at a low rate of speed when the driver lost control, left the roadway, and hit the corner of a house.

Medics transported the postal worker to an area hospital with unknown injuries.

Nobody inside the home sustained injuries, and damage to the house was minmal.

A full investigation is underway.
