Pedestrian sustains head injury in central Bridgewater collision

BRIDGEWATER, MA – One person sustained serious injuries Wednesday when a vehicle struck them at an intersection in west-central Plymouth County.

According to NBC 10 Boston, the auto-pedestrian collision occurred just before 8 a.m. near Central Square in the city of Bridgewater, which is about 31 miles south of Boston.

Police haven’t yet disclosed the circumstances of the accident; it’s unclear if the pedestrian was walking in a designated crosswalk when the vehicle hit them.

Medics airlifted the pedestrian to a Rhode Island hospital with serious injuries.

No charges have been filed so far in connection to the crash.

A full investigation is underway.
