Injuries reported in auto-pedestrian crash on Main in Groton

GROTON, MA – A vehicle struck and injured a pedestrian Saturday afternoon in northwest Middlesex County, reports NBC 10 Boston.

Shortly after 2 p.m., emergency crews were called to an auto-pedestrian crash on Main Street in central Groton, which is about 42 miles northwest of Boston.

Police say the victim was crossing Main Street in a designated crosswalk when an eastbound vehicle hit them.

Medics airlifted the victim with serious injuries to an area hospital.

Authorities haven’t shared any information about the driver involved in the accident, but they’ve also not categorized the crash as a hit-and-run.

No charges have been filed so far.

A full investigation is underway.
