Injuries reported in Amherst semi crash near Belchertown Rd

AMHERST, MA – Two people were hurt last Wednesday in a two-vehicle collision involving an 18-wheeler in northeastern Hampshire County.

According to Western Mass News, an air ambulance responded to an entrapment crash in the area of Belchertown Road and Harkness Road in Amherst around 2:10 p.m. This is around 92 miles west of Boston.

It’s not yet clear what caused a semi-truck and a car to collide. Both vehicles left the roadway upon impact, and the driver of the car became entrapped in their vehicle.

Following extrication efforts, medics airlifted one person to the hospital with unknown injuries.

Another person went to the hospital via ground ambulance.

A full investigation is underway.
