Fiery, two-vehicle collision on I-95 in Attleboro injures 2

ATTLEBORO, MA – A man and a woman were hurt Sunday in a two-vehicle collision along the interstate in northwest Bristol County, reports Boston 25 News.

The accident occurred shortly before 1:30 a.m. on I-95 in the city of Attleboro, which is approximately 38 miles southwest of Boston. Police haven’t yet provided a mile marker or cross street for the crash.

Officials are still working to determine the cause of the collision and the manner in which the two vehicles impacted. One of the vehicles, they say, caught fire after overturning and hitting a concrete beam.

The man driving the first vehicle became entrapped and required extrication. Medics transported him to area hospital with serious injuries.

The second driver went to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police closed the interstate for almost four hours while crews gathered evidence and worked at the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
