Call Earley Before It’s Too Late!YARMOUTH, MA – A man sustained fatal injuries Tuesday afternoon in a fiery solo collision in south-central Barnstable County, reports WHDH 7.
Shortly before 1:30 p.m., emergency crews responded to a major accident near the intersection of Highbank Road and Coveview Drive in Yarmouth, which is around 76 miles southeast of Boston.
Police say that for unknown reasons, a driver lost control of his vehicle, causing it to leave Highbank Road and overturn. The car then caught fire, trapping the driver inside.
The 21-year-old driver died at the scene of the accident. Authorities have not yet released his name to the public.
Three police officers required hospitalization for smoke inhalation.
A full investigation is underway.
