3-vehicle crash at River St, Hunter Ave kills pedestrian

HAVERHILL, MA – A man died, and two people sustained injuries Tuesday following a three-vehicle crash in north-central Essex County.

According to WCVB 5, the incident occurred shortly before 8 p.m. in the area of River Street, or MA-113, and Hunter Avenue in Haverhill. This is north of the Merrimack River and approximately 38 miles north of Boston.

Police say that a pickup truck collided with a Volvo, which then struck a third vehicle and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, identified so far as a 68-year-old man, died after transport to an area hospital.

Medics transported the driver of the Volvo and an infant to an area hospital with unknown injuries.

A full investigation is underway.
