BILLERICA, MA – Emergency teams responded to an injury collision in the northwest suburbs of Boston on Tuesday morning, reports WCVB News 5.
The two-vehicle accident occurred just before 10 a.m. near the intersection of Treble Cove Road and Jenkins Drive in the city of Billerica. This is about 25 minutes from Boston.
Police aren’t yet sure what caused the crash. Video footage taken at the scene indicates that the accident involved a Honda Accord sedan and a Ford Escape SUV.
Both the sedan and the SUV sustained heavy front-end damage, suggesting the vehicles collided head-on.
Medics transported three people to an area hospital. One of the victims sustained serious injuries.
Drivers likely faced significant delays along Treble Cove Road in the area of the crash while crews worked at the scene.
A full investigation is underway.
