2 injured in motorcycle collision on Federal St in Greenfield

GREENFIELD, MA – A motorcyclist was hurt late Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle accident in central Franklin County, reports Greenfield Recorder.

The collision occurred around 11 a.m. on Federal Street, or Route 10, between Linden Avenue and Hastings Street in the city of Greenfield. This is about two hours northwest of Boston.

The initial investigation indicates that a red Honda motorcycle rear-ended a gray Honda CRV when the driver of the latter vehicle slowed to make a turn.

Medics airlifted the motorcyclist, identified only as a man in his 20s, to the hospital with serious injuries.

The female driver of the Honda also went to the hospital with injuries of unknown severity.

Officials closed a portion of Federal Street while medics assisted the victims and crews worked to clear the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
