SOUTHAMPTON, MA – A two-vehicle collision along the highway in south-central Hampshire County killed one person and injured two others on Friday, reports WWLP 22.
The accident happened just before 3:30 p.m. on College Highway, or MA-10, between Gunn Road and Helen Drive in the city of Southampton, which is about two hours southwest of Boston.
Police haven’t yet determined the cause of the crash, nor have they specified the manner in which the two vehicles impacted.
A 74-year-old man from one of the vehicles died after transport to an area hospital. Authorities identified him as Michael R. Laliberte.
Medics transported two other victims to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The collision caused closures along College Highway while emergency crews worked at the scene.
A full investigation is underway.
