Sandwich 3-year-old killed in pedestrian crash near US-6

EAST SANDWICH, MA – A young child sustained fatal injuries in an auto-pedestrian accident that happened Sunday in northwest Barnstable County, reports WCVB 5.

Around 3:30 p.m., emergency crews were called to a fatal crash along the Service Road of US-6 near Mill Road in East Sandwich, which is about an hour southeast of Boston.

Police haven’t yet clarified if the 3-year-old was walking on our near the service road when the car hit them.

The child died after transport to an area hospital.

The driver involved in the collision stopped to render aid and to speak with authorities.
