BOSTON, MA – Boston Police are investigating a pedestrian crash that seriously injured one person last Thursday afternoon, reports WCVB 5.
Emergency crews responded around 2 p.m. to a major accident near Alfred L. Bertulli Park at Meridian Street and Saratoga Street in East Boston.
It’s not yet clear if the victim was walking in a designated crosswalk when the crash occurred.
Medics transported the pedestrian to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. Authorities have not released the victim’s identity to the public.
The driver involved in the accident stopped to render aid and to speak with police. No charges have been filed so far.
Officials closed roadways in the area of the collision while teams assisted the victim, gathered evidence, and worked to clear the scene.
