CHARLTON, MA – At least one person sustained injuries Thursday in a crash involving an 18-wheeler in southwest Worcester County, reports WWLP 22.
The accident occurred sometime before 10:22 a.m. along the eastbound side of the Massachusetts Turnpike, or I-90, near Center Depot Road in Charlton. This is about 53 minutes southwest of Boston.
Police haven’t yet specified what caused the semi-truck and a passenger vehicle to collide.
Also, while authorities reported non-critical injuries, it’s unclear how many people were hurt and if they required hospitalization.
Officials closed the eastbound side of I-90 in the area of the crash while emergency teams assisted the victims and worked to clear the scene.
A full investigation is underway.
