MILTON, MA – The 68-year-old man that was struck on his bicycle in Milton last Wednesday succumbed to his injuries on Friday night, reports NBC 10 Boston.
The bicycle collision occurred around noon along Blue Hill Avenue, or Route 138, near Canton Avenue. This is just south of the Thacher Montessori School.
Police say that for unknown reasons, the 85-year-old driver of an SUV hit the cyclist on Route 138.
Medics transported the victim, since identified as Father James B. Doran, to a hospital in Boston, where he would ultimately die. Doran was a priest affiliated with the Oblates of the Virgin Mary at the St. Joseph Retreat House.
The driver of the SUV was not hurt in the accident, and there’s no word yet regarding charges.
The investigation is ongoing.
