Massachusetts Umbrella Insurance Policies

The required minimum auto insurance liability amount in Massachusetts is $20,000/$40,000.  This many times is not enough to protect someone and there assets is they have seriously injured someone as a result of a Massachusetts auto accident.  It is for that reason that I suggest you purchase an umbrella automotive liability policy.  Well, what is that?

An umbrella policy will provide you with added auto liability coverage.  It only costs about $300.00 per year and it provides $1,000,000, or more, in coverage to you if you have seriously injured a person or persons in a Massachusetts car accident.  This coverage will kick in once your underlying policy has been exhausted.  Before an insurance company sells you an umbrella policy, they will probably require you to purchase (if you do not have it already) at least $250,000 in underlying liability coverage.
