Massachusetts Personal Injuries Sustained to Pets and Emotional Distress

Many times the negligence of someone else can other people very serious injuries. But sometimes negligence causes injuries to animals. When this happens in Massachusetts, the owner of the animal often suffers emotional distress after seeing or witnessing their pet(s) sustain injuries as a result of the negligence of a third-party. Cases like this often come up when veterinarians commit animal malpractice, and the owner of the pet tries to recover emotional distress damages they suffered as a result of their pet’s injuries. Unfortunately, in Massachusetts, the law does not allow you to recover damages for emotional distress after your pet has been injured by the negligence of someone else.
