The FDA however in 2020 issued a recall of this drug because it was found to cause cancer of the pancreas and lungs. According to the FDA, there is concern that lorcaserin drugs can cause various types of cancer to develop. This means everyone that takes these drugs can be potentially exposed to unnecessary risk of developing cancer. The drug should never have been allowed to enter the market.
