Single-vehicle collision on Margin St in Peabody injures 7

PEABODY, MA – Emergency teams responded to a solo crash with multiple injuries Wednesday afternoon in south-central Essex County, reports NBC 10 Boston.

The accident occurred just after noon on Margin Street, which runs north to south on the east side of Peabody. This is just northwest of Salem and about 20 miles northeast of Boston.

Police say that for unknown reasons, the driver of a white van lost control of the vehicle and hit an electric pole.

Of the 14 occupants in the van, 7 required hospitalization for non-life-threatening injuries.

There’s no word yet regarding the condition of the driver at the time of the crash.

Motorists likely encountered delays along Margin Street Wednesday afternoon while crews assisted the victims and worked to clear the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
