Serious injuries reported in pedestrian crash at South, Loomis

BEDFORD, MA – A man sustained serious injuries Sunday when a vehicle struck him at a busy intersection in central Middlesex County, reports yahoo!news.

Just after 6 a.m., emergency teams responded to an auto-pedestrian crash at South Road and Loomis Street in the city of Bedford, which is about 21 miles northwest of Boston.

It’s not yet clear if the victim was walking in a designated crosswalk when the crash occurred. Medics transported him to a hospital in Burlington with serious injuries.

The driver involved in the accident stopped to render aid and to speak with police.

Motorists likely faced delays in the area of South Road and Loomis Street while crews gathered evidence and worked to clear the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
