Man killed, woman hurt in solo crash on S St W in Raynham

RAYNHAM, MA – A 31-year-old man sustained fatal injuries Sunday in a single-vehicle collision along a major roadway in northeast Bristol County, reports NBC 10 Boston.

The accident occurred shortly after 8 p.m. on South Street West on the south side of Raynham, which is north of Taunton and about 36 miles south of Boston.

Police say that for unknown reasons, a driver lost control of a vehicle, left the roadway, and hit a tree along South Street West.

The driver, who has not yet been identified by authorities, succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash.

Medics transported a female passenger to an area hospital with serious injuries.

There’s no word yet regarding the driver’s condition at the time of the accident.

Motorists likely faced delays along South Street West Sunday night while emergency crews worked at the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
