HOLYOKE, MA – One person died Monday afternoon in a two-vehicle collision in north-central Hampden County, reports WWLP 22.
The accident occurred shortly before 3 p.m. at the intersection of North Bridge Street and Lyman Street on the northeast side of Holyoke, which is about 90 miles southwest of Boston.
Police haven’t commented on the cause or circumstances of the crash except to say that a car and a motorcycle were involved.
The motorcyclist succumbed to their injuries after transport to an area hospital.
It’s unclear if anyone in the other vehicle sustained injuries in the accident.
Officials closed the intersection while emergency teams attended to the victims and worked to clear the scene.
A full investigation is underway.
