Semi-truck strikes, kills pedestrian at Commercial and Lynnwood

LYNN, MA – An 18-wheeler fatally struck a pedestrian early Monday in south-central Essex County, reports WCVB 5.

Shortly after 6 a.m., emergency crews responded to a major accident in the area of Commercial Street and Lynnwood in Lynn, which is around 13 miles northeast of Boston.

Police say that snowy road conditions may have factored in the crash. It’s unclear if the victim was walking in a designated crosswalk when the accident occurred.

The pedestrian succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Authorities have not yet released his name to the public.

A full investigation is underway.
