FALL RIVER, MA – A 34-year-old cyclist sustained fatal injuries Sunday when a car struck him along a major roadway in southwest Bristol County.
According to WHDH 7, the accident happened around 5:15 p.m. on Stafford Road between Palmer Street and Grinnell Street in Fall River. This is 51 miles southwest of Boston.
Police say that the driver of a green 2005 Subaru Legacy fled the scene after hitting the cyclist.
The victim, who has since been identified as Jordyn Lyttle, died after transport to an area hospital.
The driver of the Subaru did not stop to render aid or to speak with authorities.
A full investigation is underway.
