Fatality reported in multi-car crash on MA-125 in Andover

ANDOVER, MA – A multi-vehicle collision claimed a life on Saturday afternoon in west-central Essex County, reports Boston 25 News.

Shortly after 2 p.m., emergency teams responded to a crash involving three vehicles on MA-125 near Vine Street in Andover, which is about 25 miles northwest of Boston.

Police haven’t yet commented on the cause of the accident or the manner in which the three vehicles impacted. They say that one of the drivers died in the collision. It’s unclear if anyone else involved sustained injuries or required hospitalization.

Authorities are withholding the name of the deceased until next of kin have been notified.

Officials closed MA-125 in the area of the crash for just over three hours while crews gathered evidence and worked at the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
