BOSTON, MA – Boston Police are investigating a fatal accident involving a shuttle bus that happened Monday morning in the South End, reports WCVB 5.
Shortly before 8 a.m., emergency crews responded to an auto-pedestrian crash near BU Medical Campus at the intersection of Albany Street and Massachusetts Avenue.
Police say that a Boston University shuttle bus run by Academy Express hit a female pedestrian near the intersection. It’s unclear if the pedestrian was walking in a designated crosswalk when the crash occurred.
The pedestrian died at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s name to the public.
Drivers likely experienced heavy delays Monday morning in the area of Albany and Massachusetts while teams worked to gather evidence and clear the scene.
