FAIRHAVEN, MA – A multi-vehicle collision along the highway in southeastern Bristol County claimed the life of a teen girl over the Fourth of July weekend.
According to NBC 10 Boston, crews responded to a fatality crash along Route 6 near Jeannette Street just after 9 p.m. on Saturday. This is on the northeast side of Fairhaven, about an hour southeast of Boston.
While police haven’t yet commented on the cause of the accident, they say it involved a Nissan Sentra and two pickup trucks. The manner in which the three vehicles impacted is still unclear.
The driver of the Nissan, identified as 17-year-old Marin Stackpole, died at the scene of the collision.
Medics transported two additional people to an area hospital with non-critical injuries.
Officials closed Route 6 in the vicinity of the crash while emergency teams worked at the scene.
A full investigation is underway.
