MIDDLESEX CO., MA – A single-vehicle collision along the interstate in northeast Middlesex County injured a Massachusetts State Trooper on Wednesday.
According to Boston 25 News, the accident occurred just before 7 p.m. on I-495 near the Lowell Connector, which is near both Chelmsford and Lowell and about 30 miles northwest of Boston.
Police say that an officer from Andover Barracks lost control of his cruiser while responding to a call. The vehicle overturned along the interstate.
Medics transported the trooper to an area hospital with non-critical injuries.
No other passengers were riding in the cruiser at the time of the crash, and no other vehicles were involved.
Officials closed a portion of I-495 in the area of the accident while emergency teams worked at the scene.
