Single-vehicle crash on I-84 near MM 5 kills New Hampshire woman

STURBRIDGE, MA – A 59-year-old New Hampshire woman died last Friday in a single-vehicle collision along the highway in southwestern Worcester County, reports NBC 10 Boston.

The accident occurred shortly after 3:30 a.m. on I-84 near exit 5 in the city of Sturbridge. This is about an hour southwest of Boston.

Police haven’t shared any details about the circumstances of the wreck except to say that the vehicle rotated multiple times along the interstate before ejecting the sole occupant.

The driver succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Authorities identified her as Beth Wittenberg of New Hampshire.

Officials closed the interstate in the area of the crash while emergency teams gathered evidence and worked to clear the scene. All roads re-opened shortly before 7 a.m.

A full investigation is underway.
