MILFORD, MA – A young girl was airlifted to the hospital Thursday after a vehicle struck her in southeast Worcester County, reports WCVB 5.
The child was walking with her father around 4 p.m. in the crosswalk at Congress Street and Spruce Street in Milford when the accident happened. Milford is about 39 miles southwest of Boston.
Police say that the driver did not see the two pedestrians when turning into the crosswalk at the intersection.
Authorities haven’t specified the nature or severity of the girl’s injuries.
The father does not appear to have been hurt in the crash.
The driver involved in the accident did stop to render aid and to speak with police. They did not appear to be intoxicated.
No charges have been filed thus far, but the investigation is ongoing.
