MILTON, MA – A 60-year-old cyclist was hurt Wednesday when a vehicle struck him along the highway in north-central Norfolk County, reports WCVB 5.
The bicycle collision occurred around noon on Blue Hill Avenue, or Route 38, on the southwest side of Milton. This is about nine miles south of Boston.
It’s not yet clear what caused the accident. Police say the crash involved a gray SUV and that the driver of the SUV did stop to render aid and speak with authorities.
Medics transported the bicyclist to an area hospital with serious injuries.
The victim was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Officials closed Blue Hill Avenue in the area of the collision for around three hours while emergency teams aided the victim and worked at the scene.
A full investigation is underway.
