WEST SPRINGFIELD, MA – Emergency teams responded to a multi-vehicle injury accident along the highway in West Springfield on Saturday, reports WWLP 22 News.
The collision occurred shortly after 10:30 a.m. along Route 20 at Chestnut Street, which is north of the Westfield River and about 91 miles southwest of Boston.
So far, police haven’t specified what might have caused the four-vehicle crash, nor have they detailed the manner in which the vehicles impacted.
Medics transported one person to an area hospital with serious injuries.
Officials closed several lanes at the intersection, urging motorists to seek alternate routes.
