It turns out that Philips knew users had complained about the problem before, but it was not until April, 2021 that a public warning about the product was put out. The actual recall did not happen until June 14, 2021.

The lawsuit alleges not only that the product is dangerous and can cause serious health conditions, including cancer, but also that Philips failed to warn that the public of the potential danger of the product.
