OSHA investigates fatal work accident in Barnstable Co.

BARNSTABLE CO., MA – A 71-year-old man died Friday in a work-related accident at a cranberry bog in northwest Barnstable County, reports WHDH 7.

The accident happened shortly before 8:30 a.m. at 1504 County Road in Pocasset, with is around 8 miles south of Bourne and 63 miles southeast of Boston.

Police say that the victim was operating a sand spreader when the vehicle overturned, pinning the worker, who died at the scene.

Authorities have not yet released the name of the victim.

No other workers sustained injuries.

A full investigation is underway.
