HAMPDEN, MA – Injuries have been reported in connection to a major crash that happened on the Fourth of July in southeast Hampden County.
According to WWLP 22, the incident occurred around 8 p.m. on Main Street just west of North Road in downtown Hampden. This is about 82 miles southwest of Boston.
Police haven’t yet identified the cause of the accident or the number of vehicles involved. They say the crash caused one vehicle to overturn, and photos taken at the scene depict a car on its side in the roadway.
Medics transported three people to area hospitals with injuries of unknown severity.
Officials closed Main Street for around an hour while crews assisted the injured parties and worked to clear the scene.
