BERKLEY, MA – Two people were hospitalized Monday in a two-vehicle collision along the highway in east-central Bristol County, reports abc 6.
The accident happened at night along the northbound side of Route 24, or the Fall River Expressway, near Exit 16 in Berkley. This is about 41 miles south of Boston.
Police haven’t yet commented on the cause of the accident or the manner in which the two vehicles impacted.
Medics airlifted one of the drivers to a Rhode Island hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The other driver went to a hospital in New Bedford with non-critical injuries.
Drivers faced closures along the Fall River Expressway Monday night while emergency teams assisted the victims and worked to clear the scene.
