The crash occurred just before 9 p.m. in the area of South Street and Norval Avenue, which is east of Coggshall Park and west of MA-12 in the city of Fitchburg. This is about 52 miles northwest of Boston.
Police haven’t released any details regarding the cause of the accident or the manner in which the two vehicles impacted.
Authorities declared one person, a 39-year-old, deceased at the scene. They’ve not yet been identified publicly.
Medics transported at least one other person to an area hospital with injuries of unknown severity.
The collision likely caused delays in the area of South and Norval while emergency crews worked at the scene.
